Chili Donuts!
Poppamies offers a wide range of fiery flavors, from hot sauces to snacks, spice blends, and more. Since spiciness works differently in various product types, we’ve developed tailored labeling systems to make it easy to choose your heat level.
Spiciness can be intense in one product and subtle in another. That’s why we use different scales depending on the category – to give you the most accurate and helpful picture of the heat you’ll experience.
In hot sauces, the heat can vary wildly. That’s why we use a 1–10 scale to give you a precise sense of how fiery it really is – from a gentle tingle to full-blown firestorm.
➡️ On our website, hot sauces display this directly in the product title, e.g., “7/10”.
For spice rubs and snacks, the heat is usually more balanced, so a 1–5 scale works best. Here’s how the scale maps out:
➡️ These are shown using Mild, Medium, Hot, or X-hot labels.
Our wing sauces and Tex-Mex products use a simple and familiar system:
Mild, Medium, Hot, Extra Hot – making it easy to understand the heat level at a glance.
Most of our mayonnaises aren’t spicy, so we only label them when they actually bring the heat.
If you don’t see a “Hot” label, you can assume it’s mild.
Category | Scale Used | How it appears on the website |
---|---|---|
Hot Sauces | 1–10 | Shown as “7/10” next to product name |
Spice Blends & Snacks | 1–5, shown as Mild–X-hot | Shown verbally: Mild, Medium, Hot, X-hot |
Wing Sauces & Tex-Mex | Mild, Medium, Hot, Extra-hot | Shown verbally |
Mayonnaises | Labeled only if “Hot” | Shown verbally if applicable |
We want to give you the most honest and practical picture of how spicy each product is – whether it’s a light dusting of chili or a face-melting sauce from the depths of hell.
By adapting the scale to the product type, you can confidently find the level of heat that’s just right for you. 🌶️
